At Shellderado, we don’t serve many burgers, but our latest creation is a wild ride from the sizzling griddle to the salty sea breeze. Introducing the Shellderado Surf & Turf Burger, a bold fusion of land and sea that’s as rugged as a desert trail and as fresh as a coastal breeze.
Why Surf & Turf?
Because sometimes, choosing between a juicy beef burger and succulent prawns feels like picking your favourite child. we decided to put them together. This burger starts with a crispy-edged beef patty, layered with garlic prawns. Add mature cheese, crispy jalapenos, and a generous swipe of spicy smoky mayo, and you’ve got a flavour profile that’s equal parts cowboy campfire and beach bonfire.
The Build
A 100% beef patty for that authentic western style
Juicy Garlic Prawns for a briny, buttery punch (In my opinion, this is what makes this burger)
Mature Spanish Cheese for depth and melt
Home Smoked Chilli Mayo for smoky/creamy kick
Fresh Sliced Tomatoes
Crispy Lettuce
Toasted Pan de Cervesa to hold it all together like a golden sunset
Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper (The only thing added to the beef mince)

Ingredients
250g beef mince
8 uncooked, peeled prawns
1 clove of chopped garlic
2 large burger buns (we use pan de cervesa)
Mature Spanish cheese
Home smoked chilli pepper salsa
Mayo
Sliced Tomatoes
Lettuce
Olive Oil
Butter
Directions
- Add salt and freshly ground black pepper to the beef mince and mix well. Shape into 2 x 125g burger patties and set aside. don’t put them in the fridge if you intend to eat soon. These can be made the day before. If they are made in advance, remove from the fridge at least 1 hour before cooking.
- Heat 2 frying pans, 1 big enough for 2 burger patties and 1 for the prawns. Add the patties to the hot pan and cook on 1 side 1/12 minutes. Turn the patties over, then add the garlic to the other pan and after 30 seconds add the prawns, turn when required until cooked.
- Whilst cooking the prawns, place the cheese unto the patties. Place a lid on the pan to melt the cheese. After 1 minute, turn the heat off.
- Take the burger buns and spread a generous serving of the smokey mayo on the top and bottom. Now load the bun. Lettuce, Sliced Tomatoes, patties, prawns, then the lid. pop in a skewer from top to bottom to keep it stable whilst serving.
- Serve with fries. we also like to add deep fried calamari.
